First Steps
To make calls with PhonerLite, you always need SIP account credentials. These credentials can come either from an Internet VoIP provider or from a local IP-PBX in your own network.
The recommended way is to enter these credentials through the wizard: open Configuration and click New. The wizard guides you through the initial setup step by step.
Option 1: VoIP Provider
Your provider usually supplies the required account details:
- SIP server address (for example: sip.example.com)
- Username / SIP ID
- Password
Prefer entering this information through the wizard via Configuration and New. Alternatively, you can set the values manually under Configuration > Server and Configuration > User.
Option 2: Local IP-PBX
If you are using a local phone system (IP-PBX) in your LAN, use the SIP extension credentials created on that system. You still need the PBX server address, username, and password.
Example: FRITZ!Box as a local IP-PBX
- Open Telephony > Telephony Devices in the FRITZ!Box.
- Click Set up new device.
- Select device type Telephone (with and without answering machine).
- Select connection type LAN/Wi-Fi (IP telephone).
- Create a username and password for that extension.
- In PhonerLite, set server to fritz.box (or the FRITZ!Box IP address) and use the credentials you just created.
Quick Setup
- Start PhonerLite
- Open Configuration and click New
- Enter the SIP server address in the wizard
- Enter username and password in the wizard
